A potent storm system will move across the central U.S. this week, approaching the Mid-Atlantic and central Virginia Wednesday evening. The weekend warmth we just experienced will return to the area ahead of this system. Moisture, wind profiles, and lift should be sufficient for a few strong to severe thunderstorms to develop Wednesday afternoon and evening, especially across the western third of Virginia.
