Remnants of Colin Not Likely to Revive Soon
Tropical Storm Colin, which formed Tuesday morning from Tropical Depression Four, lost its short-lived surface center of circulation Tuesday evening, and is now a "remnant low" pressure system. Upper-level winds disrupted the organization of Colin yesterday, and will likely inhibit re-strengthening anytime soon. What remains of Colin is a couple hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands in the western Atlantic (see satellite image above). This low pressure system will likely avoid any landmasses as it remains over the open Atlantic, currently moving to the west-northwest at 25 mph.
Over the next couple days, Colin's remnants will likely be unable to reorganize, which you can see through the 48 hour period.
By the time this system could reorganize and strengthen, it will already be arching back eastward several hundred miles east of the U.S. coast. Colin, or its remnants, will likely not impact the U.S.
