Strong Tropical Wave Off African Coast

An impressive wave has moved off the African coast today. Although conditions are not 100% ideal for development, it should gradually strengthen in the coming days and could potentially become our first named storm of the season - Ana.

Heat Advisory On Monday

There's no other way to put it - tomorrow is going to be sweltering! Heat Advisories are now in effect for most of the Mid-Atlantic. I'm expecting highs to reach near 100, which would tie the record set back in 1900.

(Heat Advisory)

It's Been Quiet In The Atlantic, But...

Hurricane Felicia is a Category 1 in the Central Pacific and is luckily weakening as it heads straight at Hawaii. It should continue to weaken and make landfall Monday night as a tropical storm.

Although hurricanes in the Pacific are common, it is extremely rare for storms to track this close to Hawaii. In fact, only ten storms have passed within 75 miles of the islands since 1950!
