After a good rainfall overnight, where isolated locations picked up an inch or more, we could see another heavy rain event tonight in central Virginia. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging wind gusts, but for the most part these will be heavy thunderstorms.
Don't be surprised if you hear thunder and heavy rain tonight, just like last night!

Welcome Rainfall Last Night!
Last night's rainfall in Central Virginia produced widespread totals of about a half inch or better. Officially at Richmond International Airport, we recorded 0.57", but our year-to-date deficit is at 4.82" below average. These rainfall events are helpful, but not enough to break our current drought. Here are the latest conditions:
We'll have another good opportunity for rain and storms this evening and overnight in Central Virginia, which could lead to localized totals 0.5" to 1.0" in the area again.
