Watch Canceled
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been canceled. The rest of the evening will be quiet. Remember to send storm photos to ajustus@wtvr.com!
Squall Line Racing To The East
A line of strong thunderstorms extends from the Northern Neck all the way down to the North Carolina state line near Emporia. This whole line is racing to the east, so we are almost done with the severe weather this evening. I don't expect any redevelopment behind the line, so you can rest easy tonight!
Send photos of the storms or of damage in your neighborhood to my email: ajustus@wtvr.com. I will try to show all of them for the 11 PM newscast!

New Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued
Isolated Thunderstorms In The Area
Severe Thunderstorm Watch Continues...
Over the past couple hours, a few thunderstorms have popped up and then quickly fizzled. This trend will continue for the next few hours, then the chances for rain will quickly diminish after sunset.
The strongest storms are still capable of frequent lightning, heavy rain, and possibly damaging winds. Tune into CBS 6 news at 6 PM for the very latest!

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 9 PM
Tornado Watch Cancelled
Storms have dissipated, so the threat for severe weather is now gone. We will have another chance for isolated strong storms later this afternoon.
Tornado Watch Until 6 AM
A Tornado Watch has been issued for communities mainly south of I-64 and is in effect until 6 AM. The main threat will be powerful straight-line winds with the strongest storms, but there is enough "twist" in the atmosphere that an isolated weak tornado could also form. I will be tracking storms for the rest of this morning and will bring you the very latest when conditions warrant.
