Tornado Watch Until 6 AM
A Tornado Watch has been issued for communities mainly south of I-64 and is in effect until 6 AM. The main threat will be powerful straight-line winds with the strongest storms, but there is enough "twist" in the atmosphere that an isolated weak tornado could also form. I will be tracking storms for the rest of this morning and will bring you the very latest when conditions warrant.

Tornado Watch Until 3 AM
A tornado watch is in effect until 3 AM for southwest and west-central VA, including Charlotte, Appomattox, Buckingham, Amherst, and Rockbridge counties.
Showers & T-storms Possible Late Friday & Saturday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible late Friday after dark in Central Virginia, and into Saturday. On Saturday, the strongest storms may be capable of severe wind gusts greater than 64 mph. Here is the risk area:
A cold front will move through Saturday night, bringing milder temperatures for Mother's Day, and dry weather for Mom!
