Patchy Fog Friday Morning

Patches of dense fog have developed near Emporia, Danville and Lynchburg, where visibilities have dropped below a half mile. Fog should quickly lift with sunny skies expected this afternoon.

It was a cool start to the day with lows ranging from the upper 50s to mid 60s. Later this afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s.

Rain Totals Yesterday-Today

At Noon, the cold front has made it into Southeast Virginia, already past Williamsburg, Petersburg, and approaching Emporia on down into Central North Carolina. Southeast of the front, scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. Behind the front, scattered showers will continue to move through Central Virginia, but taper off gradually through the afternoon and early evening.
