11:30AM Fri Update
Snow continues in most of Central Virginia, leading to about an inch of accumulation in Richmond so far this morning on cars and elevated surfaces. The roads remain wet, but not snow-covered, at this time. Surface temperatures are hovering around freezing right now, but are expected to rise above freezing this afternoon and evening. A winter mix of sleet and wet snow will occur from sunset into the evening. Rain will encroach northwestward tonight as far north as Richmond and all of Hampton Roads. A changeover back to snow is expected before sunrise Saturday as the surface low moves east of Virginia Beach.
