Tracking Two Storms

1) Monday Night

A clipper will move in from the north and give us a brief chance for some snow. This storm doesn't have much moisture to work with, but it should be potent enough to squeeze out a dusting for some isolated spots across Virginia. If you are driving early on Tuesday morning, keep a close eye to the forecast.

2) This Upcoming Weekend

Computer forecasts continue to show a storm developing along the Gulf Coast and heading this way for Saturday into Sunday. Data is still very inconsistent with the intensity of the low and temperatures during the event. Here is a look at the raw data:

Until the data becomes more consistent, it will be too hard to pinpoint whether we will see rain or a wintry mix. The high pressure over Quebec will be key to the forecast. If it can drag in colder air from the north, then we will have a better chance for snow. We will watch this closely and bring you more updates through the week.

I want to also mention that the latest long range data still shows several days of above average temperatures starting at the end of next week.

Watching Up North

We are currently tracking a clipper that will move out of central Canada and into our skies Monday night. This storm will be moisture-starved as it passes overhead, however, it should be strong enough to squeeze out some light snow. It's still too early to talk about accumulations, but it doesn't look too significant.
