Winter Storm Warning Through Wednesday AM

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through Wednesday morning for the counties highlighted in pink, where 3" to even 6" of snow accumulation is possible tonight. In the Advisory area, less than 3" of snow is possible. A dusting up to half an inch of snow may also occur southeast of the Advisory region, including the Richmond/Tri-Cities area.

Winter Mix Likely Tuesday Into Wednesday AM

A comparatively minor winter weather event will occur Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday early morning in Central Virginia. In the Advised area, one to three inches of snowfall accumulation is possible, with less than an inch to areas southeast of the Winter Weather Advisory, including the Richmond/Tri-Cities area. Tuesday a mix of sleet, snow, and rain will move into southwestern Virginia, then expand into the rest of Central Virginia this afternoon and evening. After sunset, a changeover to light snow is expected. This event should lead to fresh slick spots on Wednesday morning.
