Frosty Moon

Tonight's full moon is called the "frosty moon" for the shimmering reflection of the bright moonlight off of the November frost that is typical this time of year. We won't get frost in the metro area tonight, but the brilliant moonlight is illuminating a heavy dew and ground fog very well across central Virginia. Cold overnight lows later in the week could bring parts of the area the first freeze of the season. The average first freeze in Richmond is October 29th. The coldest temperature we have seen so far this season was 35 degrees on October 20th.
