November is in the books, and it was a record-breaker for precipitation at Richmond International Airport. November 2009 became the new wettest November on record at RIC, with 9.60" of rainfall recorded. This obliterated the old record of 7.64" from November 1959 by about two inches!
Richmond wasn't the only city in Virginia to break rain records in November. Norfolk also recorded its wettest November on record with 9.20", breaking its old wettest November of 7.01" from 1951. Norfolk was also about two inches over its old record!
